Fun for all ages - flyers must be a minimum of only 3 years old!! Scouts BSA & Cubs - work on the Stem NOVA award for Engineering ~ Up and Away!

(Not all requirements are done during the event, see below)

Includes: Interactive STEM class, Hands-on Lab Activity, all Gear to fly, Training & 2 Flights, and a Physics Demonstration in a Vertical Wind Tunnel.

iFLY may not be able to accommodate flyers who weigh between 260-300 lbs.

 

BSA NOVA - Up & Away

During our STEM Program, we specifically address the following requirements for the Up and Away Nova Award:

  • 3A. Conduct a Terminal Velocity Investigation. (Physics Demonstration Experiment in the Wind Tunnel)
  • 3B. Calculate your terminal velocity on different planets. (Hands on Lab Activity) *We will simplify math for young scouts.
  • 4A. Visit an iFLY Indoor Skydiving wind tunnel facility or other BSA approved indoor skydiving wind tunnel and participate in a STEM Education program. *Discuss the STEM concepts related to the tunnel with your Nova Counselor.
